As per the new policy announced by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on July 5, 2017, all PIO cards of Israeli nationals would be converted to OCI irrespective of compulsory army service, subject to certain conditions.


Accordingly, all PIO Card holders are requested to apply for conversion of their PIO cards to OCI along with following documents:


(i) Hard copy of the online OCI application
(ii) Original and copy of passport (original to be returned)
(iii) Original and copy of PIO (original to be returned)
(iv) 5 copies of recent photograph (5x5 cm)
(v) Latest salary/pay certificate (if employed)


It may please be noted that the application form for conversion of PIO to OCI is available on the site www.ociindia.nic.in or www.passport.gov.in/oci. The last date for conversion of PIO to OCI is December 31, 2017. The application would be accepted after a personal interview.


Fresh OCI (applicant above the age of 18 years)


All Israeli nationals of India origin are encouraged to apply for OCI irrespective of compulsory army service. The online application form for OCI is available at the site www.ociindia.nic.in or www.passport.gov.in/oci.


Please note that applications for OCI would be accepted only after a personal interview. The documents required for a fresh OCI application are as follows:


(i) Hard copy of the online OCI application
(ii) Original and copy of passport (original to be returned)
(iii) Copy of old India passport or Laissez-Passer (issued by Israeli authorities in India) or any other proof of Indian origin as mentioned at the section 'Indian Community (Sub-section- OCI)'
(iv) 5 copies of recent photograph (5x5 cm)
(v) Latest salary/pay certificate (if employed)
(vi) A certificate (duly attested by the Israeli Defence Forces) stating that the individual has only done mandatory service and is not on reserve duty.
(vii) Fees NIS 1385/- in cash
