The Israeli government has been offering 250 summer scholarships to undergraduate students from India and China since 2013 to spend a month at the above-mentioned eight research institutions in Israel. In its first cycle last year, about 30 Indian students availed of this scheme. Separately, the Summer Institute of the Tel Aviv University is offering attractive scholarships to Indian Students for two of their Summer Courses from July 1- 25, 2014. The Scholarship would cover the entire tuition fees and accommodation. The University promises excellent social and cultural exposure to the selected candidates in addition to the outstanding academic exposure that the candidates would be receiving. The two programmes are:
a) Business Entrepreneurships in the Start-up nation and the changing Middle East
This program would expose the candidate to the dynamic business culture in Israel and the changing scenario in the wake of the Arab Spring. Click here for brochure and details.

This programme is aimed at candidates interested in cyber security. Suitable for candidates from all backgrounds, the course would equip the candidates to develop a deeper sense of understanding on the topic, from the pioneers. Click here for brochure and details.
The prerequisites for admission are:
a)Submission of the official transcript with a graded point average of 80% or above.
b)Two academic recommendation letters.
c)TOEFEL score with a minimum 582 in written, computer based 223 or iBT 8/ IELTS score of 7 and above.
e)Last date for application: May 18.
Graduate level Scholarships
The Israeli government also offers seven scholarships to Indian students every year at graduate level: five general scholarships and two for Hebrew language study. The scholarships are offered for eight months (one academic year) to graduate students under the age of 35 to pursue programmes in universities and programs approved by the Israeli Council for Higher Education. The scholarship includes tuition fee; monthly allowance (US$750); and, a basic health insurance. Applicants have to arrange for accommodation, transportation and air travel to and from Israel. Scholarships for Hebrew language studies are granted in the Ulpan (Hebrew language school) chosen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Applications are invited generally in the month of November every year.
